Many Delights Found on The Island
You’ll be surprised and delighted when you visit The Island, Long Island that is. The diverse attractions
offered here should satisfy all the travelers in your group – whether there are
4 or 40 people involved!
Participate in the excitement of racing and wagering at Belmont Race Park or plan a
visit to Bethpage
State Park, where you can play on one of the five award-winning golf courses
or take in a Sunday’s polo match (from June to October). For a relaxing picnic
lunch select Belmont
Lake State Park, which offers boating, fishing, biking and hiking trails.
Later, find time to drop in at a Long Island
Winery, where they are producing exceptional wines from some of the oldest
vines in the state.
Museum goers will enjoy a stop in the Hampton’s and a visit to the Parrish Art Museum or Guild Hall. If you
are interested in historical sites, in Sag Harbor you’ll discover
19th century Windmills and Lighthouses. The well-known, Montauk Light House has been
serving as an active navigational aid since its construction in 1796 and has
been part of the seascape for over 200 years. Learn lesser known facts about
your favorite dinosaurs and admire the amazing exhibits – some which took
paleo-artists a decade to make - when you visit Riverhead’s Dinosaur Walk Museum.
Discover how and why Long Island has been on the leading edge of America’s
aviation adventures for over a century in Garden City’s, the Cradle of Aviation. Take time to
view the feature presentation in their IMAX Theatre - where everyone has the
